If like me you have admired the work of Jimi Hendrix but never got round to actually owning any of his albums then this CD collection is a must buy.
The collection consists of two CDs,the first being made up of 19 studio recordings.
Included in the 19 are all the tracks that you would expect to find,"Purple Haze","Hey Joe","All along the watchtower","Voodoo child" .
Good as these tracks are,they wouldn't have been enough on their own to make me want to go out and buy this collection.What sold it to me was the 12 live tracks on the second disc.
The energy that comes through from these tracks almost has the effect to make the disc 1 seem rather tame in comparison.
There are several tracks that also appear on Disc 1,"Purple Haze","Fire" & "Hey Joe",but rather than feel cheated by hearing the same tracks on both discs,relish the prospect of being able to compare the studio sound  to the live recordings and iam sure you will find yourself wanting to listen to the live versions and get the full feeling of the Jimi Hendrix experience.
